Vijay's childhood & early life ~ Vijay's Fan? Join The Club!!

On June 22 1972, in the morning hours, a beautiful baby boy was born for the Chandrasekar-Shoba couple. The baby had big bright eyes and rarely cried. His parents named the boy Joseph Vijay. This baby boy would grow up to become the biggest movie star in South India. (Want to just see his child album as a slideshow? click here!)

Below is the photo of Ilaya Thalabathy Vijay when he was 1 year old. The person who took this picture was none other than his father S.A Chandrasekhar. Cute, is n't he?

When Vijay was 6 years old, he was baptized (received gnanasnanam) in a popular chennai church. Vijay would grow up to move away from christianity and become an atheist.

This photo was taken when IlayaThalabathy was 10 years old. His mother and other female members of his family are taking "Aarathi" and performing "dhrishti" to keep away evil eyes.

Vijay was 11 years old when this picture was taken. Vijay is shown with a garland around his neck. Not sure if he won a competition in his school (Balalok in virugambakkam) or if it was some other festival.

16 year old Vijay is smiling for the camera. Standing next to him and smiling is his mother Shoba. Vijay would start posing for more and more pictures in the next coming years, since he would begin his acting career in 2 years. Yes, Naalaya theerpu would be released when he was just 18.
