Plot:
Thirumalai (Vijay) is a mechanic in Pudhupettai who loves his friends and neighbors more than anything. Simple, passionate and straight forward, he works in his automobile shop and cares for his friends. Raghu (Raghuvaran) is an artist who moves into the locality with his wife Nagalakshmi (Kausalya).
On New Year's eve, Thirumalai meets Swetha (Jyothika) a young college student, who greets him by saying "Everything will be fine". From that point on, Thirumalai feels that his life had been changed. His automobile repair business seems to be booming. He seems to be having good luck everywhere, anytime. Thirumalai realizes that Swetha is his lucky charm, and falls in love with her.
Thirumalai reveals his feelings to Swetha and she simply brushes him off. Thirumalai is an illiterate who cannot even write a letter without spelling mistakes. As time goes on, Thirumalai does not give up and keeps meeting Swetha. Swetha finally realizes the true love of Thirumalai and falls in love with him. Swetha's father Avinash is a business magnate who owns half-a-dozen satellite television channels in Tamil Nadu. When he finds out that his daughter's lover is an automobile mechanic, he is determined to split the two at any cost. He hires the biggest don in the city, Arasu (Manoj K. Jayan) . Arasu starts threatening, kidnapping Thirumalai's friends, and much more to stop Thirumalai from seeing Swetha. Will Thirumalai buckle down? Will he fight back against the biggest gangster in the city? Did Thirumalai and Swetha's love come to a happy conclusion? Watch the movie to find out!!
